Full rescreens and screen repairs
We rescreen pool cages, lanais, and front entries, and we repair torn panels, screen doors, hardware, and fasteners. We install Phifer screening.
A full rescreen or a panel repair?
If a few panels are torn and the rest of the screen is in good shape, a panel repair is usually enough. If the screen is faded, brittle, or tearing in many places, a full rescreen of the roof, the walls, or both makes more sense.
We look at the whole enclosure and tell you which one your cage needs. If the framing itself needs work, see renovations and structural upgrades.
Screen options
We install Phifer screening. The right screen depends on the space and what you want from it, so we talk it through at the site visit.
Most choices come down to a few trade-offs. Our guide on choosing pool cage screen covers them in more detail.
- Visibility: how clearly you can see out through the screen
- Airflow: how freely the breeze moves through
- Small insects: a tighter weave keeps out smaller bugs
- Privacy: how much the screen blocks the view in from outside
Screen doors, hardware, and fasteners
Screen doors take the most use of any part of an enclosure. We repair doors that drag, scrape, or will not latch, and we replace worn hinges, closers, and other hardware.
Loose or corroded screws get replaced with 410 stainless steel fasteners. For a full fastener replacement, see our guide on screw change-outs.
What we check while we’re up there
A rescreen puts us close to every part of the frame, which makes it a good time to look at the rest of the enclosure. If we see a problem, we point it out and explain your options.
- Framing that is bent, loose, or out of line
- Super gutters and gutter guards
- Fasteners that are rusted, spinning, or missing
- Screen doors and their hardware

What rescreen customers say
Rated 4.9 out of 5 on Google.
Fantastic 5-star service from Back Water Aluminum! Austin repaired torn screens on our pool cage; he reattached and straightened wind-damaged framing, and fixed our loose gutter guards. Austin also adjusted our front screen door, which was scraping along the concrete (no more scratching). Punctual, skilled, and honest work from start to finish. We are happy and definitely recommend Austin from Back Water Aluminum!
So happy we chose Backwater Aluminum. Austin and his team installed our front door enclosure and re-screened our lanai. They are professional, courteous and very friendly. Austin explained everything about the products he was using and the install. We couldn't be happier with the finished product.
Common questions
- Should I rescreen everything or just repair a few panels?
- Repair the panels if the damage is limited and the rest of the screen is in good shape. Rescreen the roof, the walls, or both if the screen is faded, brittle, or tearing in many places. We will tell you which one your enclosure needs.
- What screen material do you recommend for Florida homes?
- We install Phifer screening. The best choice depends on the space and what matters most to you: a clear view, airflow, keeping out small insects, or privacy. We help you weigh those at the site visit.
- How long does a rescreen take?
- Your estimate covers the schedule for your job. The size of the enclosure and whether it is the roof, the walls, or both play into it.
- What drives the cost of a rescreen?
- The size of the enclosure, roof versus walls, the screen you choose, and any door, hardware, or fastener work shape the price. We price every job after a free site visit.
- Do you rescreen lanais and front entries too?
- Yes. We rescreen and repair pool cages, lanais, screen rooms, and front entries.
