About Backwater Aluminum SWFL
A family-owned aluminum contractor in Southwest Florida, building pool cages, lanais, screen rooms, and front entries the right way.
The Backwater name
The name comes from the Florida most visitors never see: hidden waterways, mangroves, quiet water, good fishing, and the outdoor life that goes with them.
That is the idea behind the name and the hook in our logo, and behind our slogan, “Hook’d On Excellence.” We build the screened spaces that let you enjoy that Florida outdoor life from your own backyard.
How we work
Backwater Aluminum SWFL LLC is a hands-on, family-owned company, established in 2023. We work in Southwest Florida only, and we run every job the same way: be honest about what it needs, price it fairly, and do it correctly.
That starts with a free visit to your home. We measure, look at the site and the house, talk through the options and materials, and then put together an estimate for your project. If a repair will do, we will tell you so.
- Straight answers about what your enclosure needs, and what it doesn’t
- A custom estimate after we have seen the site, not a guess over the phone
- The Backwater crew on the installation, whether it is a new cage or a rescreen
The crew
Customers often mention our crew by name in their reviews, and the way they talk about the crew is something we are proud of.

What customers say
Rated 4.9 out of 5 on Google.
Excellent customer service and product. We upgraded our lanai framing and screens from the original 1980s to panoramic and it is amazing. Austin took the time to talk through options, what materials they would use, length of time to install and cost. His employees are also kind quiet efficient and courteous . Absolutely would recommend.
Fantastic 5-star service from Back Water Aluminum! Austin repaired torn screens on our pool cage; he reattached and straightened wind-damaged framing, and fixed our loose gutter guards. Austin also adjusted our front screen door, which was scraping along the concrete (no more scratching). Punctual, skilled, and honest work from start to finish. We are happy and definitely recommend Austin from Back Water Aluminum!
We had the screen roof taken off our Lani and a solid roof put in. What a difference. Austin and his crew went above and beyond. Great professional work. So good that we then had them screen in our entry way. Complete with a 4' custom screen door. I would recommend them to anyone.
Austin & his men did a beautiful job creating & building our lanai. We love it! Planning the job, scheduling & completion went seamlessly. I highly recommend this business. Thank you
So happy we chose Backwater Aluminum. Austin and his team installed our front door enclosure and re-screened our lanai. They are professional, courteous and very friendly. Austin explained everything about the products he was using and the install. We couldn't be happier with the finished product.
