Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions Southwest Florida homeowners ask us most about pool cages, lanais, screen rooms, and rescreens.
Estimates
- Do you provide free estimates?
- Yes. Estimates are free. We come to your home to measure, look at the site, and talk through your options, then send a custom estimate for your job. Call (941) 380-9098 or send us your project details.
- Why do you need to visit before giving a price?
- Most projects need a site visit and a custom estimate. The size of the space, the house it attaches to, site conditions, and engineering all shape the price, and we would rather measure than guess. Our guide on what drives the cost of a pool enclosure explains each factor.
- How fast will you get back to me?
- We typically respond within one business day. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Enclosure types
- What is the difference between a standard enclosure and a ClearView enclosure?
- A ClearView enclosure is designed to open up the view with fewer visual obstructions, where engineering permits. A standard enclosure uses the familiar pool cage layout. Both are engineered aluminum enclosures. See ClearView and panoramic enclosures or our guide on ClearView vs. standard pool enclosures.
- Can you replace my existing pool cage or upgrade it to ClearView?
- Yes. We replace and rebuild existing pool cages, and existing cages can be converted to ClearView, depending on the framing, its condition, and what the engineering allows. We look at your cage in person and tell you what it would take. See enclosure renovations and structural upgrades.
- Do you offer insulated roof systems for lanais and screen rooms?
- Yes. We build insulated panel roof systems with integrated gutters, flashing, and trim, along with screened wall systems for lanais, patios, and screen rooms. We can also replace an existing screen roof or patio roof with an insulated roof. See insulated roofs and screen rooms.
- Do you repair enclosures you didn’t build?
- Yes. Our repair, rescreen, and renovation work is on existing enclosures, including older cages and storm-damaged ones. See rescreens and screen repairs.
Materials
- What screen material do you recommend for Florida homes?
- We install Phifer screening. The right screen depends on the space and what matters most to you: a clear view, airflow, keeping out small insects, or privacy. We talk through those trade-offs at the site visit. Our guide on choosing pool cage screen covers the basics.
- What fasteners do you use?
- We use 410 stainless steel fasteners. For older enclosures with corroded screws, a screw change-out replaces them. See our guide on screw change-outs and stainless fasteners.
- What frame colors are available?
- Frames come in Bronze or White. We talk through which one suits your house at the site visit.
Timelines and permits
- How long does an enclosure project usually take?
- It depends on the job, so your estimate covers the schedule for your project. The size of the build, engineering, and permits all play into it. Our guide on how a pool enclosure project runs walks through the steps in order.
- Who handles engineering, permitting, and HOA paperwork?
- New enclosures and structural work are engineered for your home and site and need a building permit. If you live in an HOA community, it may ask for architectural approval too. We go over the engineering, permit, and HOA steps for your job at the estimate. See permits, engineering, and HOA approval.
